The Pine Performance Center presents
The True North Quartet Chamber Music Concert
Saturday, August 10th
7:00 PM
~FREE~ Generously sponsored by the Curtis Buckeyes
The True North Quartet returns to the Pine Performance Center to perform a program entitled “Land and Sea.” Mozart’s “Hunt” quartet is paired with Australian composer Alfred Hill’s Quartet #2 “A Maori Legend.” This programmatic work tells the story of how the indigenous people of New Zealand found their homeland! A monster, a magical crane, a magical tree, and a hero fashioning a canoe out of this tree to take him across the waters. Oh, my!
The quartet is comprised of founder and violinist Paul Lundin, violinist Joseph Deller, violist Janine Bradbury and cellist Katri Ervamaa. All are active free-lance orchestral musicians in southeast Michigan. Ervamaa teaches at the Residential College at the University of Michigan.
This program is free to the public thanks again to the “Curtis Buckeyes” who generously make this available each year.
