U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Federal Duck Stamp Gallery Exhibit Reception
You are invited to a reception on Thursday May 23, 5:30-7:30 pm to welcome the 2024-25 Federal and Junior Duck Stamp Exhibit to the UP!
The exhibit includes original artwork entered in national competitions depicting ducks, geese or swans from over 60 artists from across the US. Each year, the exhibit travels all over the country to promote wildlife and habitat awareness and conservation.
This exhibit is sponsored by Friends of Seney National Wildlife Refuge and Erickson Center for the Arts.
Both competitions are sponsored by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. The winning designs in each contest are used to create (non-postal) stamps, which are widely collectible and sold to the public. Funds raised from sales of the Junior Duck Stamp are used to educate and engage youth in wildlife and wetland conservation and outdoor recreation. The Federal Duck Stamp serves as a hunting permit and must be purchased by migratory waterfowl hunters. Proceeds from the sale of Federal Duck Stamps are used for wetlands conservation.
The exhibit will be open May 22-June 19, and is located in the Waterfront Gallery space at the Erickson Center for the Arts, N9224 Saw-Wa-Quato Street Curtis, MI 49820. The exhibit is free and open to the public during Erickson Center hours.
