The True North Quartet Chamber Music Concert
The Pine Performance Center presents
The True North Quartet Chamber Music Concert
Monday, August 7th
7:00 PM
~FREE~ Generously sponsored by the Curtis Buckeyes
The True North Quartet returns to fill the Pine Performance Center with both dramatic and beautiful string quartet music in a program entitled “Czech it Out.”
This year’s concert features two works. The first is a biographical programmatic work by Bedrich Smetana “From My Life” telling the story of the composer’s life in sound. The second is the “Cypresses Quartet” by Antonin Dvorak. This rarely heard quartet is a set of loves songs that the composer then set for strings. Hold hands with someone next to you and be transported by these beautiful pieces.
The quartet is comprised of founder and violinist Paul Lundin, violinist Joseph Deller, violist Janine Bradbury and cellist Katri Ervamaa. All are active free-lance orchestral musicians in southeast Michigan. Ervamaa teaches at the Residential College at the University of Michigan.
This program is free to the public thanks again to the “Curtis Buckeyes” who generously make this available each year.
